If you know Tia, you know she knows her food. Is it the Greek genes? The love of cooking? Or perhaps her true love affair with food?

No matter the reason, I love food. Homemade, Gourmet, in a shack by the ocean, or sitting on a longboat in the middle of the ocean eating fried rice (Phi Phi Islands, I love you).

Food is life and brunch, in particular, is goals.

But since brunch became ”the thing to do” on autumn/winter Sundays, Brunch eateries have been popping up left right and center – with a fair few of them leaving a lukewarm impression to my critical palate.

Which is why I just HAD to write a short and sweet brunch review of Edems Yard.

I’m not easily impressed but … drool. Hands down the best Brunch in Larnaca so far.

Options: A one-page menu which is what I like. (I really don’t need that kind of pressure of deciding on a Sunday)

Especially impressed that they didn’t have your typical Eggs Benedict on the menu and experimented a little with different variations.

Egg dishes, custom made pancakes, healthy options and to top it all off, vegetarian and pescetarian options too!

I loved that a lot of Edems Yard variations include New York Bagels which you don’t see very often. There’s also a Croque Madame dish which I haven’t seen on a menu since my London days and living in Chelsea. S

Edems Yard prices are particularly pleasant!

No dish costs more than 8 euros, and I have paid double and triple that amount in various Brunch Eateries both in Cyprus and in Europe.

I don’t know how to say this without sounding like someone paid me for this review (They didn’t and I sneaked up on them!) but the taste blew my socks off.

There was literally no faulting this dish; anywhere!

I went for ”The Royal” – eggs, bread, cream cheese, avocado crema, and smoked salmon. The rustic bread was fresh and warm, while the spinach salad was tangy with just the right amount of crunch.

My poached eggs were textbook – gooey not runny and seasoned to perfection.

The salmon serving was generous, and the cream cheese impossibly smooth!

Lastly, I died and went to heaven with the Avocado Crema.

A real party for my taste buds. Well done Edems Yard!

Score 20/10 with an exclamation mark !

Sweet. Ahhh Pancakes how i love thee.

Finally, a menu where you can custom order your pancakes without them tasting as if they came out of a child’s kindergarten party.

My usual problems with pancakes are – too thick, tasteless or not fluffy enough with not enough toppings.

To my surprise, none of those could be found at Edems Yard!

My Nutella, biscuit and strawberries pancake was perfection down to the T.

The batter was impossibly smooth and just the right thickness.

The toppings were generous and the ingredients tasted luxurious – I doubt any cheap brand substitutes are used anywhere in that kitchen!

I ate the whole thing and I wasn’t even remotely guilty.

Score 10/10

A small and intimate venue, decorated oh so beautifully. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available but the outdoors cannot be used during the winter months as it’s unprotected by weather elements. ( i was later told they will be fixing this issue very soon)

The sour note is that unfortunately, no reservations can be made. This creates utter mayhem as Cypriots are not renowned for their patience and subtle manners.

The foyer is packed with people waiting (impatiently) for a table, glaring down at you while you eat. Awkward!

Score 7/10

Lovely bilingual staff fluent in both Greek and English, well-groomed and in uniform. Friendly happy faces and patient enough with the customers even whilst working under pressure.

Score 10/10

Finally, a brunch eatery that is bold with choices, big on taste and small on prices.
