It was an absolute dream of mine to visit Singapore, and in August 2023, I managed to make it happen! After 3 blissful weeks in Indonesia and the Komodo National Park, I landed in Singapore. There, I spent 3 days exploring this incredible country!

So I finally sat down, looked through all my notes, pictures, and videos, and relived the experience all over again so I could write this Itinerary for Singapore -3 days – for you.

Itinerary for Singapore 3 Days

Are you ready for an adventure in the heart of Southeast Asia? I was anxious about having only 3 days in Singapore. I knew the country was small but I was also aware of how versatile it is. And my research had shown there were dozens of amazing things to do.

So I set out to see how much of those I could actually cram into 3 days, and let me tell you, my itinerary for Singapore 3 days did NOT disappoint!

In just three days, you too can immerse yourself in this dynamic city-state’s sights, sounds, and flavors. Follow my guide for an unforgettable journey through Singapore, in just 3 glorious days.

Day 1: Dive into Culture and Heritage

10:00: Merlion Park

Start your Singaporean escapade with a visit to the iconic Merlion Park, where the mythical creature spouts water against the backdrop of Marina Bay.

Snap some Insta-worthy photos before strolling along the picturesque Marina Bay Promenade.

12.00 Enjoy Chinatown

Next, delve into Singapore’s rich cultural tapestry in Chinatown. Lose yourself in the labyrinthine streets lined with colorful shophouses, bustling markets, and ornate temples.

Don’t miss the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, a serene sanctuary amidst the hustle and bustle.

14:30 Hawker Center Food Market

For lunch, indulge in a gastronomic adventure at a Hawker center. A hawker center is a food market with cuisines from all over the world. Sample local delights like Hainanese chicken rice, laksa, and char kway teow, all at wallet-friendly prices.

I would highly advise you to add at least one food market in your Itinerary for Singapore 3 days!

16:00 Arab Street – Kampong Glam District

Afterward, explore the vibrant Kampong Glam district, home to the historic Sultan Mosque and trendy boutiques. Wander through the bustling streets of Arab Street, where you can pick up unique souvenirs and handicrafts.

20:00 Vietnamese Dinner with a Twist

For dinner, head to Ăn Là Ghiền (ahn-la-gi-hn). This is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant dedicated to bringing Vietnamese delicacies to Singapore.

Ăn Là Ghiền has a wide variety of authentic Vietnamese selections as well as ample choices of food items for BBQ and Hotpot. The food was really good here, I highly recommend it!

Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere as you savor hearty dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, in a cute ambiance with (tiny) wooden tables and chairs.

Bonus point: We were the only tourists there, the rest were locals – always a GREAT sign to any restaurant!

Day 2: Urban Oasis and Modern Marvels

It’s day 2 in Singapore! Start your day nice and early with a rich breakfast. You’ll need all the fuel you can get!

By the way, Singapore hotels are expensive! And a lot of them do not offer breakfast, and trust me, you need good fuel in this city!

10.00: Art Science Museum

Our itinerary today starts with a visit to the incredible Art Science Museum. Along your walk to the museum, feel free to marvel at the incredible architecture of Singapore – a real thing of beauty!

Now, let me make it clear, I am NOT a museum type of traveler. But this one was fascinating, with innovative exhibitions blending art, science, and technology.

I also watched a VR (virtual reality) show and it was incredible. Equipped with state-of-the-art VR headsets and controllers, the VR Gallery presents immersive experiences from some of the world’s most renowned artists, scientists, museums, and film festivals.

Open 10 am to 7 pm, tickets for adults at 14euros pp. VR shows require an additional ticket fee, which you can purchase online or on the spot.

12.00: Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay is a futuristic botanical garden showcasing Singapore’s best green technology. This is a place that will take up most of your day – and it is WORTH IT. Even if you are in Singapore for a single day, it is still worth it!

This huge park consists of various sections: The Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, Floral Fantasy, OCBC Skyway, and Supertree Observatory.

Marvel at the towering Supertrees, stroll through the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.

There is SO much to see, and marvel at – that the entire day will simply pass you by! An absolute MUST in any Itinerary for Singapore 3 days

It is unlike anything you have ever witnessed before, and simply a MUST in your Itinerary for Singapore 3 days.

P.s Get ready for HOURS of walking and for the love of God; wear comfortable shoes, and carry water with you.

15:00 Avatar: The Experience

This is also within the same park so no need to waste time moving! I was incredibly lucky to catch the special showcase of Avatar the experience inside Gardens by the bay. I am a huge fan of the Avatar movies so I was in heaven!

The Avatar Singapore experience takes guests on a journey through the lush landscapes and vibrant ecosystems of Pandora, allowing them to encounter its exotic flora and fauna up close.

Upon entering, I was instantly immersed in the fantastical world of Pandora through state-of-the-art technology. The 3D projections, special effects, and interactive exhibits were insane!

From the towering Hallelujah Mountains to the bioluminescent forests, every aspect of Pandora’s breathtaking beauty is faithfully recreated to transport visitors to another world.

A 10/10 Experience, that I highly recommend! Whether you’re a fan of the “Avatar” film series or simply looking for a unique and captivating experience, Avatar Singapore promises to dazzle and delight visitors of all ages.

So, be sure to add it to your Itinerary for Singapore 3 days!

17:00 The Blooming Flower Dome

The Flower Dome located within Gardens by the Bay, is the most renowned botanical garden in Singapore. It is a massive glass greenhouse that showcases a diverse collection of plants from around the world.

Here are some key highlights and features of the Flower Dome:

1. Climate-Controlled Environment: The Flower Dome is a climate-controlled conservatory, allowing visitors to experience cool and dry conditions reminiscent of Mediterranean climates. This environment supports the growth of a wide variety of plants that thrive in such conditions.
2. Floral Displays: The Flower Dome features stunning floral displays that change regularly throughout the year, offering visitors the opportunity to see seasonal blooms and themed exhibitions. From vibrant tulips in spring to festive poinsettias during the holiday season, there’s always something new and exciting to see.
3. Baobabs and Succulents: One of the main attractions within the Flower Dome is the collection of baobab trees and succulent plants. These iconic species are native to arid regions and showcase the unique adaptations that allow them to survive in harsh environments.
4. Educational Exhibits: In addition to its beautiful floral displays, the Flower Dome also offers educational exhibits and interactive displays that provide insights into plant conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable gardening practices.
5. Panoramic Views: The Flower Dome’s spacious interior features panoramic windows that offer sweeping views of Marina Bay and the Singapore skyline, creating a stunning backdrop for your botanical exploration.

18:30: Breathtaking Sunset Views

There are two incredible spots where you can see the most amazing panoramic views of the city skyline. Find them listed below

Option A: Sky Park Observation Deck

Most people will tell you to head to Marina Bay Sands, and buy tickets to the SkyPark Observation Deck.

Perched 200 meters above ground level, it offers visitors panoramic views of the city skyline, the bustling Marina Bay area, and beyond.

From this vantage point, you can capture stunning photographs, taking in landmarks such as the Esplanade, the Singapore Flyer, and the Gardens by the Bay.

I desperately tried to book tickets to the observation deck but there were none to be found ( a regular occurrence in Singapore, so be sure to book things well in advance). Major Oups moment, but oh well, shit happens when you travel, so we gotta deal with it!

Option B (My choice) Supetree Observatory

For equally incredible views, head to Supertree Observatory. This spot is the observatory deck at the highest point of Gardens by the Bay at a height of 16 stories (I told you, you would spend your whole day here!).

The admission fee is about 15 euros – therefore it is cheaper than option A!

The observatory offers stunning views of the Singapore cityscape, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Flyer, ArtScience Museum, The Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, and other garden attractions.

Disclaimer: The observation deck is safely railed, wheelchair friendly, and has elevator access, so you can visit regardless of your age and physical ability.

Tia’s Tip: The Supertree Observatory has two levels to it. The elevator takes you to the main deck where you can enter the observation deck on the same level. However, if you take the stairs to the next level, you’ll get gorgeous, unobstructed views of the city below from the rooftop deck. Thank me later!

Timings: Daily from 9 AM to 9 PM with the last admissions at 8.30 pm. I’d advise you to queue up at 18:30 to get a good spot! That way, you can take great photos of the sunset and have a great viewing spot for the light show at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM. (more on that below)

19.45 or 20.45 – Garden Rhapsody Light Show

Prepare to say WOW.

And how could you not be wowed by the Garden Rhapsody show that 68 independent audio speakers power? You do not want to miss this “live performance” by the Supertrees!

Be dazzled as these titanic beacons light up in perfect synchrony with curated soundtracks choreographed specially for the Gardens. 

When? Every day, at 7.45 pm and 8.45 pm. FREE.

This is such a cool experience, and completely FREE as it takes place inside Gardens by the Bay. The exact location is at the Supertree Grove (mentioned above).

You can witness the show from underneath for free ( hundreds of people laid down on the ground during it) – it was magical.

Alternatively, if you do purchase tickets for the Observation Deck, you can see the show from the top. I did BOTH and I was equally obsessed!

Every month, there is a new theme for the light show, which you can find in detail here. Themes vary from musicals to operas, Christmas, and more!

21:00 Dinner in famed celebrity chef restaurants

Savor a sumptuous meal at one of Singapore’s famed celebrity chef restaurants or dine al fresco at a waterfront restaurant overlooking the bay. Some excellent 5* options (that all need reservations well in advance) are:

1. Jaan by Kirk Westaway: Located at Swissôtel The Stamford, Jaan offers modern British cuisine with the finest seasonal ingredients. Breathtaking views of the Singapore skyline complement Chef Kirk Westaway’s innovative dishes.
2. Waku Ghin by Tetsuya Wakuda: Situated at Marina Bay Sands, Waku Ghin is a luxurious dining experience curated by renowned Chef Tetsuya Wakuda. Guests are treated to an intimate setting to enjoy a multi-course degustation menu featuring the finest ingredients.
3. Les Amis: This award-winning French restaurant at Shaw Centre is known for its exquisite cuisine and impeccable service. Helmed by Chef Sebastien Lepinoy, Les Amis offers an elegant dining experience with a menu that celebrates French gastronomy.
4. CUT by Wolfgang Puck: Located at Marina Bay Sands, CUT is Chef Wolfgang Puck’s celebrated steakhouse concept. Diners can indulge in premium cuts of beef and other gourmet dishes in a sleek and stylish setting overlooking the Marina Bay waterfront.
5. Artemis Grill: Situated at CapitaGreen, Artemis Grill offers Mediterranean-inspired cuisine made with sustainable and organic ingredients. The restaurant’s rooftop location provides stunning views of the city skyline and Marina Bay, making it an ideal spot for al fresco dining.
6. Lantern: Nestled atop The Fullerton Bay Hotel, Lantern is a chic rooftop bar and restaurant offering panoramic views of Marina Bay. Guests can enjoy signature cocktails and modern Asian cuisine against the backdrop of the glittering Singapore skyline.
7. Lavo: Located at Marina Bay Sands, Lavo combines a restaurant, lounge, and rooftop bar into one dynamic venue. Diners can savor Italian-American cuisine while taking in panoramic views of Marina Bay and the surrounding cityscape.

Day 3: Island Escape to Sentosa Island

No trip to Singapore is complete without a visit to Sentosa Island. It is well worth dedicating a day trip to this island and you get to take a cable car too!

8.00 Take a cable car

Start the day with a Taxi to Mount Faber and then a cable car to Sentosa Island (19 euros).

The cable car ride from Mount Faber to Sentosa Island takes around 15 minutes, offering breathtaking views of the Singapore skyline and the surrounding islands. It’s also so much fun because they are anime-inspired cable cars!

9.00 Time to Explore Sentosa Island

There are a ton of things to do here!

Take your pick from the Universal Studios theme park, the S.E.A Aquarium, soaking up the sun on pristine beaches, ziplining through lush rainforests, and even an amazing light and sound show! For more, check out my article about all the amazing activities on Sentosa Island.

21:30 – cable car back to Mount Faber. Typically the cable car operates from around 8:45 AM to 10:00 PM daily, with the last boarding time at 9:30 PM.

22:00 Dinner at Newton Food Market

Take a taxi from Mount Faber to Newton Food Market, because THIS is an experience, you want to have!

Newton Food Centre, located at Newton Circus, is a renowned hawker center in Singapore, famous for its diverse array of local delicacies and street food. It’s a culinary hotspot with a tantalizing mix of flavors from various cultures!

At Newton Food Centre, you can indulge in a wide range of Singaporean favorites, such as satay, chili crab, Hainanese chicken rice, barbecue stingray, oyster omelette, and more. The bustling atmosphere, aromatic smells, and sizzling sounds of food add to the excitement!

The food stalls at Newton Food Centre typically operate from late afternoon until late at night, making it an ideal spot for both locals and tourists to enjoy a delicious meal or late-night snack.

Tia’s Tip: Newton Food Centre can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours, so be prepared to queue for popular dishes.

Things To Do At Singapore At Night

As the sun sets, Singapore truly comes alive with an array of nightlife options. It just depends on how much energy you have, after spending the entire day exploring!

Spectra Light and Water Show

One thing you must do is visit the Spectra light and water show at Marina Bay Sands. Similar to the dancing fountains of Dubai, this is a FREE nightly outdoor 15-minute extravaganza displayed over the water at the Event Plaza.

At Spectra, you can see Singapore’s cosmopolitan four-part story unfold before your eyes. Told through an amazing choreography of fountain jets, colorful visual projections, lasers, lava and mist effects, and the most majestic orchestra soundtrack. A great addition to your Itinerary for Singapore 3 days.

Walk around and take in the sights

Another thing is to walk around, and take pictures! And of course, people-watching, one of my favorite things to do when I travel! I loved walking around at night – it feels super safe by the way, even at night, and even as a female traveler. The city comes alive at night!

You can experience the electrifying energy of Clarke Quay, where riverside bars and clubs pulse with music and revelry. We had lovely cocktails there.

Alternatively, explore the trendy bars and speakeasies of Ann Siang Hill and Club Street, where you can sip craft cocktails and mingle with the locals.

Wings of Time Show

For a unique nighttime experience, catch the spectacular light and sound show, Wings of Time, on Sentosa Island. Marvel as lasers, water jets, and fireworks illuminate the night sky in a mesmerizing display of artistry.
